It all started in 1952, when a milk truck driver in New York complained to the chemist Julius Sämann about the smell of his truck from spilled milk during transport.
To deal with this issue, Julius came up with the idea of soaking a special paper blotter with perfume and leaving it in the truck overnight. The next day the result was spectacular. The smell of milk had vanished and was replaced by the smell of the perfume that the paper was soaked.
So he invented the first car fragrance, giving it the shape of an abstract evergreen tree.
